Project Update

The improvements to Pelhams Park Leisure Centre continue, and the project remains on track for full public opening in late 2010.

The new dry changing facilities will be open to the public from Monday 25th October

We are now through the noisiest period of construction and the dust has begun to settle. The pool has passed a water tightness test and the block work in the wet changing area is complete, as is the wall tiling. The dry changing rooms have been tiled and the grid ceiling has been installed.  The wall tiling is well on the way in the pool hall.  Roof skylights have also been installed in the pool area. The next phase of work will include commencing tiling around the pool and progressing with floor tiling in the dry and wet changing area.  The louvre ceiling in the pool hall will also be erected.

Work is set to commence on the cycle/pedestrian path connecting the park with the centre in mid September. The cycle path link to the centre will be fully accessible by the end of November.
